Wow! From tacos to fancy Italian, 2017 has offered up many new exciting restaurants. It’s time to get out and explore the more than 50 eateries that have opened throughout Palm Beach County this year.

It’s like Chipotle, but Greek. At Olive U Mediterranean Grill the food is made fast with quality ingredients. But it’s the ingredients that make this build-your-own-entree spot different.
At Olive U, base options for a bowl are pita ($8), rice ($9), salad ($9) or hummus ($9.50). For proteins, they’ve got gyro, chicken, chicken shawarma, falafel or tofu.
Located in The Gardens Mall, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants offers a full-service bar, a tasting room and menu that offers something for everyone. Selections include American comfort classics like wine-braised short ribs and filet mignon, Italian pastas, Mediterranean small plates and lots more. Entrees run from $17 to $33. Sandwiches and burgers from $12 to $18 and appetizers start at around $9.
With a menu of American classics and a small selection of sushi rolls, Bricktop’s offers plenty of views and outdoor seating for watching the boats go by on the Intracoastal across from Season 52.
Bricktop’s opened a location on Palm Beach island in January 2014. It also operates seven other national locations, including restaurants in Coral Gables and Naples.
Located in the same western PGA plaza that houses Salute Market, La Masseria serves Pugliese and southern Italian specialties in an upscale setting. The restaurant is an outpost of a popular New York theater-district restaurant and its midtown Manhattan sibling.
Perched on top of the new, four-story Restoration Hardware in downtown West Palm, RH Rooftop Restaurant offers garden settings with a view of the city.
The menu is simple with boards to share such as the Délice de Bourgogne Cheese board ($18), a generous wedge of the classic triple crème, cow’s milk cheese from Burgundy served alongside glazed pecans, a warm, crusty baguette and strawberry preserves. There’s also salads, sandwiches and breakfast selections.
Hurricane BTW, a new national chain, opens its first franchise location Sat. Dec. 9 in West Palm. 49 locations are planned across the country.
To locals, it means a new spot for burgers, tacos and wings (aka “btw”), as well as tenders, salads, shakes, wine and craft beer (including a 32-ounce, resealable Crowler can). Menu highlights include buttermilk-marinated chicken BLT tacos, Korean barbecue beef tacos, single to triple-patty burgers, and tenders and wings, with a dozen sauces and dry rubs in which to dress them.
With a modernized, generically Asian menu (from Vietnamese wings to Thai style jerky to Peking duck), Kapow has been packing in crowds since its opening in November 2011 in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park. The West Palm location opened in the former LongBoards on the 500 block of Clematis Street.
In addition to pizza, 123 Datura’s menu offers homemade meatballs, calzone-dough sandwiches, and salads, plus a full craft cocktail bar with a focus on small-batch bourbon and speakeasy-type drinks.
A sibling of Wynwood’s original Butcher Shop, the West Palm spot includes a retail meat market, a full-service restaurant and a German-style beer garden.
The menu offers quality meats - from custom-cut steaks to sausages to burgers and chicken. Appetizers include warm German pretzels with cheddar béchamel dipping sauce and pan-seared, cheese-stuffed pierogis.
As for the beer, local brews include beers by Twisted Trunk and Saltwater breweries as well as Miami’s Wynwood Brewing. Beer lovers can pour their own brews from self-serve, three-liter beer towers.
The main attraction at Lynora’s Market: Neapolitan-style pizza fired in a custom-made Italian pizza oven.
Aside from pizza, the menu features eggplant Parm, brasciole, meatballs, pastas, homemade cheeses and sauces, as well as hot and cold sandwiches and house-made desserts.
Costa owner and restaurant veteran Sascha Bennemann has brought lighter look to the 5200-square-foot location on the second floor of Worth Avenue’s Esplanade plaza in Palm Beach, where GiGi’s Tap and Table, Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen and Trevini Ristorante once operated.
Costa’s menu includes raw bar dishes, salads, Turkish and Greek mezze dishes, Spanish-inspired tapas, and larger plates such as outstanding fish dishes, Moroccan lamb stew and a roasted chicken dish that’s served in a clay pot.
At Oceano Kitchen, the talented chef Jeremy Bearman writes a new menu daily, taking inspiration from what’s fresh, what’s regional and what can be beautifully wood-fired. The menu includes wood-fired pizzas, wood-fire-smoked meats and pasta that’s made in-house.
Sardinia Enoteca Ristorante, a staple of South Beach for more than a decade, opened in the South Delray Shopping Center south of Linton Boulevard. Sardinia’s menu offers classic Italian cuisine in its pizzas and pastas, as well as Sardinian dishes such as paella made with couscous and “pane carasatu,” or Sardinian flatbread.
Louie Bossi, located at Boca Raton’s Hyatt Place Hotel, fill its sprawling indoor and outdoor dining spaces with retro Italian décor and vibe. There’s a regulation bocce ball court, stone gargoyles, vintage lights, an oak fireplace.
On the menu: wood-fired, Neapolitan-style pizza, house-cured salumi, steaks that have been dry-aged on premises, pasta that’s made in-house, homemade breads, pastries, gelati, plus wine, beer, classic cocktails and homemade limoncello.
