Park Avenue BBQ will open its doors in The Gardens Mall on Friday, officials with the shopping center said.

The restaurant will occupy roughly 3,200-square-feet of space, including a patio area, near Sears on the mall’s lower level. The space previously housed Counter Burger.

The Park Avenue’s new location comes as mall officials try to adjust to a shifting retail environment. The Gardens wants to move away from its heavy emphasis on luxury goods by bringing in a greater variety of retailers appealing to consumers of all types.
