Park Avenue BBQ sets opening date for Gardens Mall location


Park Avenue BBQ will open its doors in The Gardens Mall on Friday, officials with the shopping center said.

The restaurant will occupy roughly 3,200-square-feet of space, including a patio area, near Sears on the mall’s lower level. The space previously housed Counter Burger.

The Gardens location will be Park Avenue’s only restaurant in a shopping mall. The chain was founded in Lake Park in 1988.

The Park Avenue’s new location comes as mall officials try to adjust to a shifting retail environment. The Gardens wants to move away from its heavy emphasis on luxury goods by bringing in a greater variety of retailers appealing to consumers of all types.

Tesla plans to open a retail showroom at the mall next to Saks Fifth Avenue, while Apple is remodeling its store to make it the largest of the company’s Palm Beach County locations.
